Candiland specializes in Fabulous Limited Edition Clothing in stretchy synthetic fabrics created by designer and costumer Candi Cane Canncel.

While attending Art School in her native Miami Beach, Florida, Candi began creating costumes for her night job as a go-go dancer in South Beach nightclubs.

As the only girl in an all drag queen review, she learned a lot about glamour and illusion and about making clothing to fit and flatter the body. After graduating from both school and dancing, she continued to sew and created her first line of unique dresses that she sold in South Beach boutiques.

She then headed to San Francisco where she continued selling her line and began her tradition of impromptu outlaw Fashion Shows. Her most noted taking place on a trolley car, left unsuspecting passengers in awe. When asked about choosing to show her collections in untraditional locations, she replies, “ I love to bring glamour to the ordinary.”

She counts as inspiration, old Hollywood Glamour, drag queens, Havana in the 50’s, the disco-era and the 1970’s lounging wear so prevalent in her Miami Beach upbringing. Her one-of-a kind pieces feature bright mix and match fabrics, hand painted detailing and “murals”, gorgeous appliqués, embroidery and innovative silk screens. As a fun bonus, each piece is individually named, along with a suggested cocktail that is indicated on its hangtag.

Candiland clothing can be found in boutiques along the West Coast and online. Her costumes have been featured in The Kit Kat Follies burlesque shows, the Los Angeles stage production of Grease 2 and the B-Movie Out Kold with Ice-T.

She is a popular teacher of the “domestic arts”. Her classes include, “Sewing 101 and Then Some”, “How to be a Fairy Tale Princess” and additional craft classes using recycled materials. Her innovative Sewing videos are featured on the how-to website ExpertVillage.com.

In April, 2008 she became the Sewing Editor of the crafty website CraftGossip.com

Candi has been featured on TLC's show Faking It, Uncommon Threads on the Do-It-Yourself Network, That’s Clever on HGTV and DIY’s Knitty Gritty. When she's not designing or teaching something crafty, she can be found adorning something with glitter or knitting up a storm!

And of course, her delicious pieces are made in the U.S.A.
